MAITLAND, FL—Author Gail Clark shares her powerful and inspiring life story as a way to help others in 911, Broken. Give it to God!: Taking the Right Steps to Overcome the Battle with Autism & Addiction ($15.99, paperback, 9781662885181; $7.99, e-book, 9781662885198).

Clark credits God’s wisdom for helping guide her from challenges to triumph. As any parent would, she wanted her son to have the best life possible despite an autism diagnosis. Her book was written to help others facing similar challenges to lessen how much their autistic children may suffer or struggle through life. Clark wants all readers to understand that if she had procrastinated and not sought help when she did, the level of frustration would have been even more intense. The author explains how frustration for an autistic person stems from not being able to express or do something. By directly attacking those challenges when one first gets diagnosed, she learned from experience how it will be easier for everyone involved. Clark acknowledges that there will still be many trials and tribulations but as in her situation, getting help early on has allowed her son to have a life. She also shares with readers how her son referred to as “Xman,” started reading the Bible as soon as he could. Xman is now able to do a lot of things he wouldn’t have been able to do if he hadn’t gotten early help.

When asked what inspired the author to write this book, Clark said, “I was compelled by the Lord, He inspired me to write this book. He kept showing me things in His Word that helped and before I knew it, I started writing things down and saving them. The Holy Spirit would bring things to my memory that I knew would help people in my situation. Plus, you have to remember, I wasn’t sober when I first started writing. This is why I know for a fact it had to be God because, the writings came out making sense. I know there are people out there that need some encouragement, and sound advice to get started moving in the right direction, on behalf of your child’s sake! You cannot procrastinate. Stop making up excuses and get after it! You’ll be glad and relieved that you did, so that your child can grow mentally and physically. Some cases are worse than other, but with prayer and the power of God, anything is possible!”
